Why SoleyProof exists
SoleyProof is a small Australian family business, started by a licensed carpenter who learned the hard way that when something goes wrong, the person with the evidence is the one who can show what was done.
On a building job, the best evidence disappears the day the plasterboard goes on, the trench is backfilled or the cladding goes up.
So SoleyProof does one job well. The tradie photographs their own work before it’s covered up. The check of those photos and the tradie’s answers is undertaken by AI, against SoleyProof’s plain-English summaries of the building code rules for that work. The licensed tradie signs a self-certification record, which is not a statutory certificate. Anyone holding the reference code can compare the fingerprint printed on a copy with the one SoleyProof stored for that record, free and with no account; a match shows the copy carries the stored fingerprint.
Who it’s for
People hiring a tradie, who shouldn’t need to know the building code to see what was recorded about the work. When the tradie records a job in SoleyProof and shares it, the person who hired them can see the record and look it up by its reference code.
And tradies who do the job right, and deserve to be able to show it years later.
A record is the tradie’s own evidence of their own work. SoleyProof does not inspect the site, and a record is not insurance, a warranty or a promise that the work is free of defects.
What we won’t do
- Sell leads. An enquiry goes straight to the tradie.
- Give tradies a score or a risk rating from their records. The stars you see are the average of the reviews customers wrote that SoleyProof has published. Each trade’s profile says how reviews are checked and what is not checked.
- Pass anyone’s records on behind their back. A record reaches someone when the tradie or their customer shares it.
