Your work, on the record — under your own licence.
Photograph the work on site, on your phone. It's checked by AI against SoleyProof's plain-English summaries of the NCC provisions selected for that job — and the evidence is timestamped, and kept for at least 10 years from issue once it's part of your certificate.
Your licence is read from the register of the State that issued it, automatically where that register allows it. NSW is read automatically from its register, and by a named person at SoleyProof when the automatic read isn't available. Everywhere else it is read by a named person at SoleyProof off the public register. Before you sign, your licence must have been read from your State's register within the last 120 days (or 14 days where a renewal is being processed), and the certificate states how and when. Your licence is read again before it expires and whenever you tell us you've renewed. Your ABN is checked against ABN Lookup when you sign up, and your profile shows where that check stands. Once your licence has been read, customers see a trade whose licence was read from the register of the State that issued it.
Every certificate is issued by you as the licensed trade and carries a fingerprint of the stored record. Anyone holding the reference code can compare the fingerprint printed on a copy with the one SoleyProof stored for that record, free and with no account; a match shows the copy carries the stored fingerprint.
Run a team? Your apprentices capture photos with their name on every shot, an office manager you invite can set up the jobs and handle the paperwork, and you review and certify — each record is issued by you as the licensed trade and is not a statutory certificate. You need to satisfy yourself that you are complying with the supervision requirements that apply to the work on each job, in the state or territory where that job is. SoleyProof is not suggesting that any particular method of review, including looking through an apprentice's captures, will satisfy those requirements.
Paid plans are not open yet. Until they are, access to issue certificates is arranged account by account.
Try a practice run — photograph, declare, check, certificate — in sixty seconds. It uses example answers and no real check runs. No account needed; nothing you tap is saved.
Try the 60-second demoSign-up takes about five minutes — have your licence number and ABN handy. At the end you’ll set up an authenticator app on your phone — we recommend the free Google Authenticator, and we show you exactly how, and why it’s what keeps your signature yours.
Trade not covered by checks yet? Some trades’ core rules live in paid Australian Standards or with other regulators, and we don’t publish checks we can’t stand behind — so certifying for those trades can only switch on if the content or register connection lands. Some never will: a pool barrier certificate is a council’s or certifier’s document by law, and design and certification work (architects, engineers, drafters, building surveyors) isn’t photographed trade work. Everything else works from day one: your profile, enquiries, jobs with photo evidence, quotes and invoices, and the assistance scanner. Your public directory listing is live from day one in every category except Pool Builder and Demolition Contractor. Those categories are listed in the public directory only while a register check of your licence shows a matching class in force. Today SoleyProof can make that match for NSW licences only. The app tells you honestly, on your trade’s page, which side you’re on.
